The Kristy Shorts are a relaxed fit and medium length short. The three-quarter elasticated waistband sits above the generous front hip pockets along the mid-waist.

The side panel features on the front and back are also in line with the pocket, adding an extra element of interest to the shorts. This panel also aligns to where the elasticated part of the waistband begins and ends and adds extra security to the pockets. The hem cuff adds a simple and effective detail to the shorts.

SEAM ALLOWANCE
A 1.5cm (5/8”) seam allowance is included on all pattern pieces.

NOTIONS
63cm/25” wide x 22cm/9” high piece of medium weight fusible interfacing.

1” no fold elastic. To determine how much elastic you will need, take your mid-waist measurement where the pockets will sit. Then minus the distance between the ‘ELASTIC ENDS NOTCH’ on the front of the shorts, minus another 1 ¼” (for fit) + 1” (seam allowance). The distance between the pockets for each size is listed below.

For example: 39” (mid-waist measurement) –
16” (front of shorts measurement between pockets for size 16) – 1¼” + 1” = 22 ¾” of elastic required.

That is: 39” – 16” – 1¼” + 1” = 22 ¾”
